Helps to Lighten the Skin Tone

Skin Lightening

Skin lightening, skin whitening and skin brightening trends are not new in the market. People may lighten their skin because of leftover acne scars, sun spots or freckles. Many individuals complain of dull, rough or ashy skin, and they are looking for products to whiten their skin. Skin lightening products form a major segment of cosmetic products worldwide and carry with them the promise of flawless skin, free from age spots, blemishes and scars. The demand for "skin fairness products" is rooted in the need to eliminate localized hyperpigmentation as well as to lighten the general skin tone.

Sabinsa offers following actives to lighten the skin tone and to minimize pigmentation problems.

  • SabiWhite®

A single entity, color-free compound, derived from the yellow Curcuminoids (the rhizomes of Curcuma longa), standardized to contain a minimum of 95% Tetrahydrocurcumin.

The antioxidant activity of SabiWhite® slows down melanogenesis, thereby lightening the skin tone and also shown to inhibit the action of tyrosinase that participates in melanin formation.

Clinically proven to be safe, effective and comparable to Hydroquinone, at much lower doses for its skin lightening properties.

    • Melanogenesis and Tyrosinase inhibition (In vitro study)
    • Manage hyperpigmentation (Clinical study)

  • Artonox®

Obtained from the heart wood of Artocarpus lakoocha, Artonox® is standardized for 95% Oxyresveratrol. Natural Oxyresveratrol is found to have significant potential as a tyrosinase and melanogenesis inhibitor, UV protective agent, potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory active. Artonox® containing Oxyresveratrol, with a multipronged approach to reduce pigmentation, is found to have significant potential as a cosmeceutical with skin lightening property.

    • UV protection (In vitro study)
  • PteroWhite®

A natural skin lightening ingredient, containing a minimum of 90% Pterostilbene from a purely natural source, the heart wood of Indian Kino (Pterocarpus marsupium). Its dual mechanism comprising good melanogenesis potential and protection from harmful UV rays helps to lighten the skin tone and improve skin radiance. Its potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities protect the skin from free radical damage caused by UV radiations.

  • Licorice Extract

Extracted from the dried roots of Glycyrrhiza glabra, standardized to contain glabridin—a potential phytonutrient that helps to lighten skin tone by inhibiting the enzyme tyrosinase.

    • Melanogenesis inhibition (In vitro study)
    • Antioxidant potential (In vitro study)
  • Ellagic Acid

A polyphenol antioxidant, obtained from the fruit rind of
Punica granatum, containing a minimum of 90% Ellagic acid. It has high affinity for copper at the active site of tyrosinase and acts as a potent skin lightening ingredient.

    • Antioxidant activity (In vitro study)
  • Saberry®

An ORAC-dense PhytonutrientTM extracted from the fresh fruits of Emblica officinalis, commonly known as Indian Gooseberry, standardized for 10% β-Glucogallin. Has a stronger melanin inhibiting activity compared to Ascorbic Acid.

    • Melanogenesis inhibition (In vitro study)
    • UV protection (In vitro study)

  • Tetrahydrocurcuminoids

A colorless, hydrogenated compound derived from yellow curcuminoids (mainly Curcumin, Demethoxycurcumin and Bisdemethoxycurcumin), extracted from the rhizomes of Curcuma longa, standardized to contain 95% Tetrahydrocurcuminoids. Possess significant skin lightening property, as they are potent inhibitors of melanogenesis and found to be better than Arbutin.
